about.

A music lover from early childhood, Camille de Tredern was a passionate piano student.
Equally attracted by manual activities, she naturally turned to music instruments making, after her scientific baccalaureate. She first studied cabinet-making at the renowned École Boulle in Paris, then chose to study string quartet making at the Mirecourt school in the Vosges.

Graduating with honors in 2014, she broadened her experience by working with a number of luthiers, from Lisbon to Frankfurt via Paris, notably with Charles Coquet, or Paul Belin; and finally from 2021 to 2023 with Patrick Robin in Angers. She then settled there.

In 2021, she built a cello in collaboration with Jean-Louis Prochasson for the Talents et Violon'celles foundation in Paris.
Camille is laureate of the "Viola's" lutherie competition in 2022 in Paris, wining three first prizes from a jury of musicians and luthiers, for a viola made in duo with Roland Belleguic.

The rich exchanges coming from working with others, and the learning from generations of violin makers through the study of their wonderful instruments, gave her great tools and material to feed her work.

My workshop is now located in Angers, one hour and a half by train from Paris. I often welcome musicians in Paris in the Talents et Violon'celle workshop, rue de Rome, for tries or settings.

Every instrument, from the choice of wood and model, to the making, varnishing and setting, is unique.  Woods are european, from sustainably managed forest, and I cook the varnish out of natural quality materials.

I draw every of my instrument following antique geometrical rules, found out by François Denis. I take my inspiration out of the work of italian violin makers frome the 17 and 18th century.

It's possible and I find very intersting to work on a new model following the needs of a musician, considering her or his request about the sound or comfort, whether it's a violin, a viola or a cello.
